Certifications and Professional Development
The 'Dare to Care' organization is a prevention program that works directly in schools and learning environments to ensure that children feel heard and are a part of conversations about bullying. By understanding children's perspectives we can get to the root issues and stop bullying before it even occurs, as well as educate ourselves on the motives of children.
The 'Access Forward' Integrated Accessibility Standard and Regulation program is an in depth look at how we can make sure we are teaching and modelling behaviour in line with Code of Ethics and Standard of Practice. Through completing the training I was able to better understand the challenges faced by many in childcare today and learn some effective strategies to make sure every child feels valued and has an equal chance to participate in whatever program I am a part of.

My professional development will be ongoing for the rest of my career, as there are always new and important developments and things to learn in the field of childcare. We discover new things everyday that relate to the development of children and how to support it, and keeping up to date is very important. I recently completed the Sick Kids Global Child Health Course and am awaiting the certificate. I will be sure to add it to this page when I receive it.
